Dear everyone,
a bit later, than expected, here now the third newsletter.
First of all, we want to thank you for coming and participating in every way you did on the counter summit. For us and hopefully for many others it was a great kick off for a future common perspective.
In the course of our reflexion upon everything that happened, we found many points to be examined critiqually. This is why we would like to invite you to share your thoughts concerning structure and organization of the summit, its political position within the anti-bologna campaign and (most importantly) dealing with the developed potential for a future common struggle.
Until the new common webplatform is set up, please use the wiki of bolognaburns.org (follow the link: http://wiki.bolognaburns.org/wiki/index.php/Reflecting_on) to leave your comments.
Regarding our future common struggle we are going to send you the work-in-progress-paper, developed in the last hours of the Vienna summit in the frame of the International Exchange Forum.
The plan, emerged from the participating people, was for everyone to discuss the future and content of this paper in their local context, before meeting with others to continue the writing process. Knowing that there are other (common) papers, such as the one produced in Brussels and Madrid, in writing process, we think it's a good idea to include those into the ongoing discussions.
The next option to continue the work on the started paper in Vienna together is, as discussed in the International Exchange Forum, the European Education Congress in Bochum, May 25-30. The idea was to set a specific day dedicated especially to this matter, if that is still needed (?).
Preparing this meeting, there will be another conference taking place in Bologna on May 6-7.
As you might recall, the international exchange forum was documented.
Since the emerged protocol still needs to be structured, you will receive it with the following newsletter.
With the wish to stay in touch and furthermore to use the created moment of bundled energy and potential for a change, we can only achieve together, we are looking forward to seeing you again and continue what we've started!
Best greets from Vienna,
Matthias, Nico and Veronica for the Bolognaburns International Mobilization Group

Common work-in-progress-paper
This is the working progress common paper discussed and written by the international exchange assembley on sunday 14.3.2010 in vienna.
It is meant to be discussed and worked on by the transnational assemblies of the education movements in Brussels, Madrid, Barcelona and Bochum.
It can be commented on in this wiki:
Work-in-Progress Common Paper
What we are We are a movement of students, lecturers, researchers and precarious workers, who met in Vienna during the Bologna Burns counter-summit to build up a self-organized transnational network. We define ourselves as non-fascist, non-racist and non-sexist and we want to create a common space of sharing critical knowledge. We are the crisis of the Bologna Process, we are angry, willing and able to fight!
We are in solidarity with other social struggles.
We are not only against the failed implementation of the Bologna Process, but we want to smash it! During the discussion in the alternative summit we clearly spoke out against the commercialization and privatization of university and education in general. We are demanding free, total and equal access to university all over the world; this means also the complete abolition of tuition fees, reclaiming a new welfare system for students and precarious workers of universities. This includes guarantees and more funds for free research and teaching.
We want to build up a self-organized university, made by all participants to share critical knowledge, create alternative ways and goals of education, hence the making of “our university”. Through this common text we would like to open a process to discuss and struggle together in the upcoming meetings (Brussels, Madrid, Barcelona, Bochum) and in our local universities and collectives of struggles.
Make Bologna History, Make our University
