I. About the Congress

 

First of all: although it is called “European Education Congress”, we want to emphasize that activists from any other parts of the world are explicitly invited to join it as well.

 

The congress was initiated by various activists involved in the free education movement in Germany. It is being financially supported by student representative bodies of different universities. At this stage an increasing number of activists in other countries such as France and Spain are getting involved in the organization. At the „European Education Congress“, we would like to talk about the education systems from a theoretical point of view, to share our experiences concerning “country-specific” problems and develop collective alternatives and their implementation, as well as to use the opportunity to network. All people interested in education are welcome to join the „European Education Congress“ during the last week of May 2010 at the Ruhr-University in Bochum, Germany.

I. Über den Kongress

 

Zu Beginn möchten wir darauf hinweisen, dass – obwohl es sich hier um den “Europäischen Bildungskongress” handelt – explizit Aktivist_innen überall auf der Welt zu dem Kongress eingeladen sind.

 

Der Kongress wurde von Aktivist_innen in der Bewegung für freie Bildung in Deutschland initiiert. Er wird unter anderem von diversen Allgemeinen Studierendenauschüssen (ASten) finanziell unterstützt. Zu diesem Zeitpunkt nehmen auch Aktivist_innen aus anderen Ländern, z.B. in Frankreich und Spanien, vermehrt an der Organisation teil.

Auf dem „Europäischen Bildungskongress“ wollen wir einen theoretisch fundierteren Blick auf die Bildungssysteme werfen, Erfahrungen mit Problemen in den einzelnen Länder austauschen und gemeinsame Alternativen und deren Umsetzung entwickeln, sowie uns über Grenzen hinweg vernetzen. Der Aufruf richtet sich an alle an Bildung und Bildungspolitik Interessierten: Kommt zum „Europäischen Bildungskongress“ in der letzten Mai-Woche 2010 an die Ruhr-Universität nach Bochum!
