International Workshops

Regarding the International Workshops, three major axis are proposed :

  1. EDUCATION – UNIVERSITY– SOCIETY
  2. TRANSMISION, PRODUCTION, DISTRIBUTION OF KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCES
  3. LIFE AND ‘MODUS OPERANDI’ OF THE UNIVERSITY

These major themes constitute and arbitrary division: our proposition is to approach their different aspects inside each workshop, if it reveals to be pertinent.

We invite you to prepare workshops locally, in order to start to build the counter-summit. Also, you are invited to indicate to us what you wish to organize. The workshops will be under the initiative of the participants, developed under the major axis and regarding the writing of the Bologna Declaration alternative text.

Other workshops can be freely created outside of these themes. The definitive list of workshops will be published on the Vague Européenne website on April 20. However, they can all take place during the counter-summit.

EUROPE AND WORLD UNITE IN LOUVAIN..

        hi all,

here's one of the rare articles in english covering the historical strike (longer than 1968 !!) taking place in french universities (we are now reaching the tenth week of massive strikes all over the country)..

http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2009/apr/07/protest-france

all activists in europe; please, we need your support; and you might also need ours..

with the counter-meeting in louvain in 2 weeks to fight back the bologna-process; with also very tough movements in spain, italy, germany, england, finland, denmark.., we have now a small but unique window of opportunity to unite for real.

i don't think activists will surrender in france this time; but we sure are going to need support because the actions are radicalizing and the police is getting more and more violent..

the chance we have here in paris, lyon, toulouse, marseille, strasbourg, rennes, nantes and all over the country.. is that professors and researchers have also been on strike for 10 weeks; the whole university community is fighting back to what we believe to be one of the last chances before education and knowledge falls into the arms of private interests.

we are now ready to litterally "fuck up" the second semester (no exams and still the right for all students to sign up to pass to the next year)..

now's a chance; we don't know if there will be a second one.

i am not afraid to say that i strongly believe that french (it's a question of months only..; "still) free" universities will fight until they fall.. or until we can alltogether open a real way to true free public education.

let's all connect and fight together now.

let's all meet in louvain and together let all the european governments know that we shall not let the bologna-process and the lisbon strategy ruin what we consider to be one of the most precious thing in life: knowledge and education.

see you in louvain in 2 little weeks.. ; france will be there, will you?

WHO IS COMING TO LOUVAIN..

hi all,

certainly we will have more infos tonight after the international chat but still, i wanted to make a small statement about "national delegations" participating to the counter-summit of louvain.

for the moment, as centralized on "vague européenne" website, here's a summary of who seems to be confirming to be there:

(http://www.vagueeuropeenne.fr/spip.php?article114 in french, because the english page http://www.vagueeuropeenne.fr/spip.php?article117 is not updated yet )

from Denmark: 2 buses,

from Spain: madrid and barcelona are getting organized together,

from France: 2 buses from paris (1 from "the Sorbonne", 1 from Nanterre); 1 or two buses from lyon, 1 bus from aix-en-provence and st étienne, 1 bus from bordeaux.. + car-pooling + professor and researcher delegations.

any news from Germany or Italy or Belgium or England or any other european country sending "delegations"?

please send all your infos to:

travel [a] louvain2009.com,

contact [a] louvain2009.com,

loic.sud.gsi [a] gmail.com,

so we can have that list progressively filling up and the early feeling that louvain is already a true international counter-meeting.

see you in louvain !!

ONE FOR ALL AND ALL FOR ONE ! ! EURORESISTANCE ! ! !

hi all,

the mouvement in universities here in france is now deepening into true resistance (i weigh my words).

researchers, professors and students have been nationally and massively on strike since february the 2nd (three whole months!! now; way more than 1968).

we are now involved with all our guts.

sarkozy and the transnational "neoliberal lobbies" behind him are trying to suffocate us and break through this deep, broad and large mouvement.

it's the brutal strength of "state violence" bought and controlled by neoliberal capitalism against the fierce resistance of a bunch of citizen idealists not willing to take the inexorable plan of a society privatizing education, knowledge; and life in the end..

most of us here are now very well aware:

if we lose now, we lose for the fucking 50 next years.. we cannot lose that fight; not now.

french universities will fight till "knock-out".

national highschool exams are coming.. they will not be assessed.

university exams are coming.. they shall not be assessed.

the strike has to go on and student are bound to get automatically the minimum grade to register to the upper year..

researchers, professors are rather now calling for radical union with students for this ultimate fight against the insane sacrifice of public university.

see these resistance call (in french).. :

http://www.auboutduweb.com/poolp/index.php?post/2009/04/28/APPEL-A-LA-RE...

see this foreseen action of a 99km walk over 4 days from chartres to paris from the 21st to the 24th of may (in french also unfortunately):

http://marchesurparis.unblog.fr/

now is the time for a european/world "revolution" spreading from all universities in europe to the streets..

there will never be a better chance before the next 50 years; we have to catch it now.

may 2009 shall be written in history books.

Spain, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Danemark, England, Greece.. ! ! ! !

after the counter-summit in louvain..

One for All and All for One ! ! !

EURORESISTANCE ! ! ! ! !
