Protests against the "Bologna Process" during the Global Week of Action
How about uniting against the "Bologna Process" across Europe during the "Global Week of Action - Reloaded" in Nov. 2009?
As far as I know there are massive education protests expected in Italy (in September) and Croatia (October), both related to the "Bologna Process" already.
Furthermore groups across Germany are considering to call for another massive wave of protests in Nov. (16 - 22nd), incl. three days of the Global Week of Action anyway!
I feel that this is a great opportunity for people across Europe to send a clear signal out to societies and the world, that we stand united in the rejection of the commercialization (and restruturing) of public education (for economic interests).
What do you think?
If we want this to happen, then we need to get ready now!
Research being done
At least for Germany and Europe, Bologna is one of the critical points in the recent development of education and thus MUST be protested against. However, quite some research, including reading many many pages of boring texts, has to be done. Our group is really trying to get into that and there are efforts made on that in many places, but the results are sometimes difficult to access. Maybe we could try to collect some of them here as a base of our protest (flyers etc.)?
The translation into english would probably take a lot of time so we might as well consider relying on what has been done and written in the languages we understand..
