Web meetings.

Hello Mo, hello ISM

I have the feeling that so far it´s not easy for interested students
to find out when the next web meetings are to take place. It might be
important for us to place the dates in time, because now we have only
end of Feb and March...

Would it be possible to post the next meetings informations here?

Hello APK & others,

since I created an "event page" on facebook for the chat already (for the first time!), I guess you are right and I can also publish the details here.
(But please post such questions inside the forum the next time and not inside the "News" section.)

Close to 130 people (on the "event page") already confirmed their attendance. Although probably not all of them will in the end join the chat, it is still quite likely that we will have a full chatroom coming sunday ;)

So here are the details:

The idea is that groups and movements around the world have a platform to get in touch with each other and co-ordinate, as well as discuss the global week of action together.

All groups and activists interested in the "Reclaim your Education - Global Week of Action" are welcome!!

It is essential that groups communicate and get in touch with other activists struggling against the same forces around the world.

  • TOP1: Round of introduction
  • TOP2: Announcements (open space for all who want to make any sort of announcements)
  • TOP3: Discussion: List of "leading figures" and professors who support and/or are part of the struggle! [~20mins]
  • TOP4: Discussion: How the week can be filled? Suggestion: Teach-ins in public spaces [~25mins]
  • TOP5: "Global Flashmob" [~25mins]
  • TOP6: Open Space


Of course the agenda is open for modifications. So, if you want to suggest a TOP or see any changes, then let just leave a comment below.

while you´re of course right - next questions to this topic may find their place inside of the forum - this first question about next meeting day/hour referred to a kind of missing news to some visitors.

thanks a lot for the details in the name of people searching fot this date. for those taking part in FB the event creation is a very good idea, for fresh joiners details at this page will help a lot, i think.

Invitation to web meeting on SUN, MAR 1st 2009

"hello there, struggling students - Mo and L. will be on a analougue
meeting this sunday. i´d like to propose a web meeting anyway, for all of us others being a) busy with other things and not going to erfurt, b) those living in other countries then germany - in order just to talk a bit maybe about "autostop" and "fl..m..." and more. (this interesting 'more'.) if you feel like having some fun cooking yourself a cup of coffe and turning your pc on at sunday - come over.
time/place: the same
-> which means the webpage for this meeting [emancipating education --> then clickweb meetings] will stay the same, it´s only the next sunday and the day number (calendar) is 7 numbers higher, all the other details will be the same (same web meeting channel -> for new people on this list: you'll find the way there online.)

Global Week Of Action - International chat on sunday 29/3!

Hey International Students Movement!

On sunday the 29/3/09 we, the danish students movement, will call for a urgent chat about the action to be taken world wide
during the Global Week Of Action, and how
to organize the actions and accomodation specifically in Belgium the same week.
It is very important that ALL local movements participate
so that we can organize the greatest student protests in decades!

Feel

The next chat will
be hosted by activists in Denmark.
The chat will focus especially on the
"global flashmob" (http://www.emancipating-education-for-all.org/content/updated-day-united-action-during-global-week-action-09)
and the upcoming protests against the Ministerial Bologna Conference in
Belgium (http://www.ond.vlaanderen.be/hogeronderwijs/bologna/conference).

We will have a chat conference
