Dresden (Germany)
~ occupation ~
Hundreds of students decided to occupy the "Potthoffbau 81" [aka POT81] at the Technical University of Dresden.
With this action they continue their struggle for better conditions at their university and expressed their solidarity with all occupations of university buildings across Germany and Europe as a whole.
Different working groups were formed, some of which specialized on creating pamphlets and banners, others to formulate press releases and specific demands.
With the occupation a free space was established, which is open to all for controversial and fruitful discussions.

The group, 'Oppose', formed at the end of the academic year 08/09 in light of the 'efficiency programme' proposed by the recently employed head of college, Sandra Kemp. The programme presents 16 courses to be cut and approximately 180 staff to be made redundant."
