"Spring of Resistance" Design Team
This is a discussion-design team formulated for all designers and propaganda distributors wanting to contribute, or request, a logo/flier design relative to the ISM "Spring of Resistance" (SoR). This group may act as a platform by which SoR designs are discussed, shared, and promoted. And, the region or demographic a given design is aimed towards will always be taken into consideration. Please invite anyone interested in contributing, or refer anyone in need of a design.
Currently the team is focusing on the production of a good "uniting symbol" as part of the SoR framework on the global level. People organizing particular events are also encouraged to request designs when needed. But, please note that this group is based on voluntary work. Therefore, requests will be answered if/when designers are able to donate their time to making them.
Contributions, requests, or general comments are encouraged below :D

Logo / "uniting symbol"
Some great designs have been suggested, and I would not want to be the judge here to select one of them.
Here are just some general rules for logo design:
- A logo is a simple icon with a high recognition value
- It should be simple enough to be used as a low res icon, web site icons are only 16 x 16 pixels!
- It should envision the task and not be too abstract
- It is a good when people can make variations of it ...
None of the design suggestions above comes even close to being a great logo, sorry guys, that is my opinion. Nice design sampls, but just not good for a logo.
The fist is too complicated as a logo (also, most left wing activists would probably not like it that is shows a right hand fist), it does not work when used in a 32x32 icon or lower, the hand is nice, but it does not really connect to students or education, the "guys with $ and books" are too abstract, people will not get the message out of it.
A logical approach to "get to the right image" could be to think of symbols for higher education at first. Some pictures that come to mind are:
- an academic hat
- books, of course
- a pen, as in the logo with the fist
It would be best to find one logo and to stay with it, I do like the groups of little fish going after the big fish, it just needs to be modified (the little fish wearing acadimic hats and the big fish being a gold fish or something).
Yet, I did not see any symbol that "is it" in my opinion. The best symbols that come to my mind are the "V for Vendetta" Mask that is being used by the ISM, it could be modified to wear an academic hat or something, and the "Uni.brennt" logo from Vienna that is being used by many German and Austrian movements.
Homepage fix ...
Can anybody please help to fix the homepageemancipating-education-for-all.org
In the header, the icon is not showing, and there are button icons missing,it looks as if it is not being maintainedproperly, not a very professional wayif we want to achieve something ...Does anybody know the Drupal CMS system? This is what drives the homepage.
Maybe there is somebody out there who can help to take care of the site design and maintenence.
