~ How to participate? ~ notes of the sessions ~
April 15 - 17th:
1st Asian Activist Video Conferences
~ For Free Emancipatory Education ~
Halfway through the preparations for the 1st Asian Regional Meeting in Jakarta (Indonesia) activists were confronted with various problems, such as increasing costs and visa complications. Therefore it was decided to arrange video conferences, which will enable all groups/activists to participate as long as they have an internet connection and Skype downloaded. The timeframe will remain the same: April 15-17th!
It is suggested that activists call for group meetings during these three days, set up a projector and make sure to have a microphone and webcam (for financial support: ). The groups will then connect across Asia through the video conferences. There are 5 video sessions in total.
!!! Please mark your participation inside this Doodle !!!
!!! To participate: Add Skype name: ism.asia to your contacts !!!
Schedule:
★ Friday (April 15th) ★
★ Saturday (April 16th) ★
★ Sunday (April 17th) ★
→ Each session will begin with a "round of introduction".
→ We estimate that each session will take about 2 hours.
Help to spread the word to fellow activists, for example by inviting them through the facebook event page.
For many years groups across Asia have been struggling against the increasing privatisation of education. These video conferences will be the first step towards a stronger network among groups within the Asian region to learn from each other and fight back together.
They are part of a series of regional meetings taking place around the world to network and coordinate the "Spring of Resistance" among other things.
This event was initiated on the ISM-Asia platform. Sign up to the ISM-Asia mailing list to receive the latest information and/or get involved in the coordinations. A final chat meeting before the event is scheduled for April 12th (details to be announced)!
