International Student Movement

Dear friends of free education!
Greetings of Solidarity from Heidelberg, Germany.

Because of the "International Day for free Education" students fixed a poster to the Heidelberg Castle. Our message "Gegen den Ausverkauf der Bildung" means
"Against the sell out  of education". We want to show  our fight against the proceeding commercialisation of education. Study fees, the Bologna Process  and  the lack of democratic structures in universities have changed many students view  on education and set the idea of education as a ware.
Here in Heidelberg we fight against this change of mind, this time by taking  people by surprise with this huge poster in a quite uncommon but  exposed location. Moreover the Heidelberg Castle is a worldwide known  (touristic) monument. We know that we are fighting for the same ideas  as other students worldwide and with this poster we are sending all of  you our greetings and our solidarity.
We would also like to express our solidarity to the columbian student who lost her eye due to police repression.
