November 30th:
Protests against the Privatisation of Education Worldwide

People worldwide are resisting the increasing privatisation of education and fight for free emancipatory education all the time. But this November 30th, the final day of the "Global Wave of Action for Education", saw an exceptional number of protests. To make the global dimension of our struggle more visible, I decided to list and share details and pictures of them here. Feel encouraged to get involved in the networking efforts on the international level and make use of the infrastructure of the independent platform "International Student Movement".

For the third time tens of thousands across the UK took to the streets to protest fees and cuts. In many places demonstrations were kettled by the police. 153 protesters were arrested in London, ten in Bristol, five in Manchester and one in Leeds. At about 20 institutions students reclaimed spaces which they keep occupying.
