What is Radio Huelga?
Radio Huelga is a radio experiment that broadcasts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from the Antonia Martínez Lagares Studio. We broadcast on frequency 1650 on the AM dial, this covers the immediate vicinity of the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras campus. To transmit within this distance it is not necessary to obtain a license from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
Radio Huelga is kept on air thanks to the donation of equipment and the time put in by dozens of volunteer who work as producers, journalists, writers, DJ's and technicians to socialize information. Notably, the organizational structure of Radio Huelga is supported by students of various faculties of the University; among them are Communications, Social Sciences and Humanities.
Radio Huelga aims to inform and entertain students who are participating in the student strike, so we will bring the most accurate news information about the process of negotiation with the university administration and other events related to the strike, because we are organized to cover the strike from the student perspective. We will not stand down, because we will succeed.
RADIO HUELGA ¡Conéctate a la resistencia!
